“I started dancing at Humphreys Dance Studio late 2007 when my singing classes changed to the same evening as my scheduled dance classes at another studio. Glen made me feel very welcome and at home from the moment I walked in. He uses a relaxed and open teaching style which is both warm and professional at the same time. I started attending Jacky’s salsa classes last year. I had never salsa’d in my life so it was going to be something new and totally different for me. I am now attending the advanced course, which tells you somthing – I love it! It is a great way to unwind from a busy week plus it is really social ( I have met some really amazing and wonderful people through the class) Jacky is a wonderful teacher. She explains the movements and steps in a step by step manner which means that everyone can understand. The thing that keeps me going back – it is fun, relaxed and entertaining. Dancing needs to be fun so take it from me.. it is!
I first came to Humphreys Studio less than 2years ago to learn Salsa. I was new to WA and needed an excuse to meet people and get some exercise. Other than a few years of ballet as a child I had no previous dance experience and was more than a little hesitant to come and give it a go on my own. Luckily, Jacky talked me into it and now I practically live in the studio! In less than 2 years I have gone onto enrol in Modern, Latin, Argentine Tango and of course Salsa classes. I am enrolled in medal classes, performed in a Salsa floorshow and have just started competing in ballroom competitions! What can I say, it becomes addictive! More than that, I have met some amazing people. The teachers are fantastic and I have improved so much more than I would have thought possible. I recommend everybody interested in dancing to give Humprhey’s a go, you never know what you can go on to achieve!
I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Humphreys Dance Studio for the opportunity given to my daughter Misty to take part in your Scholarship programme. It has been such a joy to watch not only her, but all the other children progress and gain so much confidence within themselves week after week. To all the Scholarship teachers, you guys Rock!! Your dedication, patients, love and passion for what you do is incredibly inspiring. In fact so much so that after losing my accounts job at the beginning of June I decided to finally follow my passion and have enrolled to do a Diploma in Youth Support/Mental Health, if I can do it with the same amount of passion you guys have for dance, I will be well on my way to having a fulfilling career. Thanks once again and look forward to watching Misty continue her dance journey.
Dear Glen, We have just watched the last year’s NZ Nationals and so amazed on how much you have taught us and improved our dancing in only one year! You have no idea how grateful we are to Colleen for inviting you last March to teach in our studio and thank you for accepting that invitation!!! Glen you are an amazing teacher and we are so proud to be your students! We LOVE timing, it is our favorite now (along with everything else of course :))) ).
