About Salsa At HumphreysOur Monday Night Salsa Classes are among the most popular in Perth with a large, friendly group of regulars attending all levels. We offer classes in Salsa from beginner to advanced and in the most popular danced styles in Perth. Our aim is to give our students the skills and confidence to get out and about in the Perth Salsa Social Dancing Scene with a strong repertoire of Salsa figures, great leading and following skills, styling and musicality. NEW BEGINNERS LEVEL 1 SALSA AT HUMPHREYSMonday 27th April 2026 at 7.30-8.35pm Perfect for complete beginners, non-dancers, and those new to Salsa, our Beginners Level 1 Salsa Class at Humphreys Dance Studio is the best way to learn fun and easy Salsa dance moves in a friendly and welcoming environment. Each 55-minute lesson focuses on mastering new Salsa steps, figures, and techniques, followed by 10 minutes of social dance practice to test out your new moves on the dance floor! 💃 No partner needed – just bring your two left feet! Join us at Humphreys Dance Studio, Perth’s leading dance school since 1967, and discover why Salsa is one of the world’s most popular social dances! Booking Essential. BEGINNERS LEVEL 2 SALSA COURSEMonday 16th March at 7.30-8.35pm Our Beginners Level 2 Salsa Class is suitable for dancers who have completed our Level 1 Beginners Salsa Course or attended at least 4 Beginners Salsa Classes elsewhere. Our Level 2 Course includes a Social Dance Evening with short workshop suitable for all levels. A great opportunity to practice your Salsa Skills with your group in a relaxed and familiar environment. Booking Essential. Our Level 2 Beginners Salsa Dance Course runs for 6 weeks at $132 per person. Student Price $102 per person. INTERMEDIATE SALSA WITH DANCE AMANDAMonday 27th April at 8.30-9.30pm Our Intermediate to Advanced Salsa Class is suitable for students who have completed Levels 1-2 at Humphreys or danced some Linear Style Salsa elsewhere to the same level. Covering NEW FIGURES every Term, our Intermediate to Advanced Salsa Class with Dance Amanda is perfect for the more experienced Salsa Dancer, adding more awesome figures to your repertoire and working on technique, styling & cool moves, musicality, leading & following to become a more confident and complete Salsa Dancer! All our Intermediate-Advanced Salsa Crew are invited to arrive early and join our 7.30pm class for some revision and practice for free. If you cannot make 7.30pm, then please arrive for 8.25pm and JUMP IN for 10 mins of social dance practice. INTERMEDIATE SALSA CUBAN RUEDA STYLE

ALL STUDENTS who have COMPLETED our Levels 1 & Level 2 Courses can attend our Level 1 Course at 7.30-8.30pm for FREE when you also attend our Intermediate Salsa Course at 8.30-9.30pm. COMPLETED LEVEL 1 and need a refresher? If you have completed our 6 weeks Level 1 Course and need a refresher, you can attend Level 1 for HALF PRICE. Jacky Shue
Jacky Shue has been dancing all styles of Salsa in Perth since 2000. Jacky began learning Salsa with one of Perth’s most reputable and dedicated Salsa Schools and continued to study and dance Salsa for many years before joining Humphreys and adding Ballroom and Latin to her repertoire. Jacky never stopped enjoying and dancing Salsa and soon began to form a friendly group of regular Salsa dancers here at Humphreys. Our Salsa Classes are now very well established and we have been lucky enough to add higher levels and regular dedicated Salsa Evenings to our program. Jacky also teaches Social Ballroom & Latin and dances competitive Ballroom.
Amanda Metcalf
Amanda Metcalf is one of Perth’s most established and highly regarded Salsa Dance Teachers and we are very lucky to have Amanda join our Salsa Team at Humphreys to teach all our higher level Salsa Classes.
Amanda is a full time dance teacher and holds a bachelors degree in Music Education from the University of Western Australia.
Amanda been involved in dance since 1999 and has trained both locally and in the United States, Argentina and Cuba. She was formerly the co-principle instructor at Juan Rando Dance Academy in Perth Australia, and has just returned from Houston Texas where she was invited to teach for a year with Mario Robau and Stephanie Mcpherson Robau.
Her dance repertoire includes Argentine Tango, West Coast Swing, All Styles of Salsa, Brazilian Samba no Pe, Brazilian Zouk and Cha Cha.
Amanda is well loved for her friendly and energetic teaching style.
Her teaching philosophy focuses on developing sound dance technique, partner connection and the enjoyment of dance.
She has taught dance since 2001, and teaches all levels from beginner to instructor.
Amanda has choreographed performance routines for both individual couples and groups in West Coast Swing, Tango, Salsa and Samba.
Her choreographies have been presented at international and national dance events including the Dancing With The Stars (Australia), Canadian Swing Championships, the US Grand National Dance Championships, Sydney Salsa Congress, Australian Dance Festival, The Best of The Best West Coast Swing Congress and more.
